Raj, an 8th grader from Parlin, New Jersey, was recently accepted into the highly competitive Freehold Computer Science Magnet School, one of the top programs with only 25 available seats. Though Raj has always been strong in math and science, large class sizes at school made it difficult for him to fully grasp certain concepts. While he had completed Algebra 1 by the 8th grade, his confidence fluctuated and his motivation dipped at times—especially when it came to reading comprehension and writing in Language Arts.

He’s also currently waitlisted for the Science and Engineering Magnet at Manalapan High School.

Raj is now ahead of his peers in math and science and plays an active role in helping classmates. He’s even become a leader on his school’s debate team.

Beyond Academics: Raj’s Personal Growth

Raj’s growth at Genie Academy wasn’t limited to academics. He has developed stronger time management skills, becoming more independent with homework. His social skills have also flourished—he’s confident with peers his age and has grown into a self-assured young learner.
