Genie Academy: May 2026 Newsletter
Coaches, Spirit Week, and Volunteer Opportunities
May is packed. Here is what is happening.
Meet Our Coaches
Every month we spotlight the coaches who make the difference at Genie Academy. These are the people your children work with every week — and the reason students keep coming back.
Coach Takuma
Takuma has a gift for making material stick. Students and parents regularly say he helps kids remember what they learn better than anyone else. He was recently mentioned in Vidhi Soni’s success story as a key part of her academic journey.
Coach Jessica
Jessica brings energy and patience to every session. She works across multiple subjects and has quickly become a favorite among students at her center. We are excited to share more about her in the weeks ahead.
Success Stories
Vidhi Soni — Accepted to East Brunswick and Piscataway Magnet Schools
Vidhi is an 8th grader who was accepted into both the East Brunswick Magnet School and the Piscataway Magnet School. She is now pursuing aerospace engineering — and credits her time at Genie Academy with building the foundation she needed to get there.

- Thursday (Day 4): Throwback Thursday
- Friday (Day 5): Favorite Character Day

Kids Night — May 24
Join us on Saturday evening, May 24 for Kids Night. It is a fun, relaxed event where students can hang out, play games, and celebrate the end of Spirit Week with their friends and coaches. More details coming soon from your center.
Writing Workshop
The last week of May we are running a special writing workshop at select locations. Whether your child needs help with essay structure, grammar, or creative writing, this is a great opportunity to sharpen their skills before summer. Ask your center about sign-ups.
Volunteer Opportunities
Open to middle school and high school students. If your child is looking for meaningful volunteer hours, Genie Academy is a great place to start.
- Flexible hours: 1–4 hours per session, Monday–Saturday, as many times as they want

Educational News
More schools are integrating AI tools into the classroom — some districts have shifted away from traditional spelling instruction in favor of AI-assisted writing. As educators, we believe foundational skills like spelling, grammar, and handwriting remain essential. Technology should support learning, not replace it.
Thanks for being part of Genie Academy.
